June 06′

-On June 10th, we went out to Nashville! We met tons of wonderful people and got to visit with some friends! While we were at John A’s one night we met Trey Young, Faron Young’s son, I found out that he would be singing at the Sam Davis Benefit with me and a group of other artists! We got to go downtown and see some friends that we hadn’t seen for a while including Jimmy, Sticks, Larry, Donny, John and Lois Shepherd and
some others. Later that night we went to talent night at the Hotel Preston. I was very excited to see some friends that we hadn’t seen for quite a while…like Steve Hill, Johnny Barbor, Mike Sweeny, & Rusty Rhodes. I also met a fellow friend from Myspace Allen Brown rememberd me from my music and my cowboy hat! I also met Tommy Barnes, who has written many hit songs including “Indian Outlaw”! It was very excitig talking to him
and getting insite from him about the important things to work on. The next day I played guitar in backstage Tootsies for about 30 to 45 minutes! We went over to the Louvin Brothers museum where we met Charlie Louvin and his guitar player from the Opry. They asked if I wanted to sing, so I got a guitar and played and sang a few songs. Then Charlie got up and sang a few songs personally for us, meanwhile they closed the shop and it was just us! They invited us back to sing with them again the next day! The next two days I performed my spot at the Sam Davis Benefit, at the Sam Davis Home! We had to leave quickly to go tape the Nashville On Stage TV Show! After that we headed over to John A’s when I met a steel player from my hometown, who is now playing for the Leann Rimes Band! The last night we were there we went to John A’s for
dinner and Trey Young and Vern Gosden came over and sat with us!

I have been busy with gigs on the weekends, songwriting, practicing singing & guitar, and school! I recorded two original songs, “Gypsy” and “A Girl and Her Country” (which are posted on the music clips page) the first was written by Steve Amm and John Earl — the second was written by me and my dad, Steve Castle! So take a listen and tell me what you think! I sang at our county festivals and I opened for The Drifters
at my home town festival in September! In November I sang at a Professional wrestling Match in South Carolina! I am now working some of my own original songs, which I will update you on later!

I am very proud to say that I sang on the Hometown Opry! It was held at the Newton-Conover Civic & Performance Place. The Hometown Opry has had many wonderful and talented guests and I am very proud to say I performed there! The band playing was “The Can’t Hardly Play Boys” which is a funny name because they were awesome!!! I could not tell you in words how truly great they are!!! One of the other performers was David Ridenhour, who is very well know in the country music business!! Also, the master of ceremonies was Ralph Harkey who has an outgoing personality and charming nature that entertain all types of audiences!! All in all, this was a great experience and I’m glad i was asked to perform!!
*Love, Lindsay
